#31 in Top 100 Direct Selling Companies in the World
DALLAS – August 10, 2011 – Ambit Energy, a national retail energy provider and the fastest -
growing private company in America for 2010 according to Inc. magazine, earned the 31st
position on the international list of the DSN Global 100 by Direct Selling News. The company’s
ranking jumped seven positions over 2009.
Helping drive the Direct Selling News ranking is the company’s dramatic customer growth.
Recently, Ambit surpassed 600,000 active customers in the deregulated energy markets of
Texas, Illinois, New York, Pennsylvania and Maryland.
“Over the past five years, our direct selling model has proven to be very successful,” said Chris
Chambless, Ambit Energy co-founder and CMO. “Our record growth in customer and
Consultant enrollments is a testament to the power of providing individuals the opportunity to
improve their financial future by educating friends and family about savings options for their
energy usage.”
In 2011, the explosive growth of Ambit Energy continued with expansion into Commonwealth
Edison service areas in Illinois, and to more than 620,000 homes in the service territories of
Orange and Rockland Utilities and Central Hudson Gas and Electric. Additional expansion is
planned during the coming months.
“Ambit Energy strives to be the finest and most-respected retail energy provider in America, and
to be named among the top 100 in the world by Direct Selling News is one more way that we’ve
been recognized for our commitment to that goal,” said Jere Thompson Jr., Ambit Energy cofounder
and CEO. “The dedication of our Independent Consultants and our expansion strategy
will help us increase our ranking year-over-year.”
Ambit Energy has been featured in Direct Selling News’ $100 Million Club in 2010 for
