Ambit Energy Now Provides Energy to Illinois

Company to provide electricity service to 3.8 million ComEd customers

DALLAS – June 13, 2011 – Ambit Energy, a national retail energy provider, announced today it
will launch electricity service in the Commonwealth Edison (ComEd) service territory in mid-
June. The company’s offering provides a new electricity choice with affordable rates to
electricity customers in the greater Chicago, Rockford and Joliet areas, servicing more than 3.8
million customers.

“We first entered the Illinois market in 2008 providing alternative gas service to customers in the
NICOR territory and have been recognized as one of the only alternative suppliers to save

allows customers to completely eliminate their monthly bill by referral other customers.

The company surpassed 500,000 active customers in the first quarter of 2011. This milestone is
