Ambit Energy Named Presenting Sponsor of KidSwing

Golf Tournaments Benefit Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children

(DALLAS – March 6, 2012) – Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children is proud to announce that Ambit Energy will be the 2012 presenting sponsor for KidSwing, the hospital’s annual all-kids golf tournament. Ambit Energy is KidSwing’s first presenting sponsor in the tournaments’ 10-year history. The Dallas based energy company has been a strong supporter of the tournament and wanted to take its commitment to the next level.

“The KidSwing golf tournaments have become a special cause to not only Ambit as a company, but to my entire family as well,” said Jere Thompson, co-founder and CEO of Ambit Energy. “I am continually amazed with the hard work and dedication of these young golfers to selflessly support the mission of KidSwing—kids helping kids. I cannot think of a more deserving cause to support, and we are proud to be the presenting sponsor.”

Ambit’s generous support of $20,000 will help underwrite the cost of the three KidSwing golf tournaments that are currently held in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. There is no entry fee for the tournament but participants are asked to raise $100 through the support of family and friends. Many players raise significantly more than $100.

“The participants involved with KidSwing have always wanted their funds to go directly to the care of the patients at the hospital,” said Stephanie Brigger, vice president of development at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children. “Therefore, the hospital works to raise funds to underwrite the expenses of these tournaments. We are so appreciative of Ambit’s generous support to ensure the money raised by the players goes directly to benefit the patients at the hospital.”

The original KidSwing golf tournament, which takes place in Dallas and was the founding tournament in 2003, will be held at Brookhaven Country Club on June 11, followed by KidSwing McKinney at Stonebridge Ranch Country Club on July 9 and KidSwing Trophy Club at Trophy Club Country Club on August 6. Registration for all three tournaments opens March 19 at www.KidSwing.org.
