Ambit Energy, a leading national retail energy provider based in Dallas, has been ranked 20th by The Dallas Morning News’ Top 100 Places to Work 2017 in the Large Company category. This marks the second consecutive year Ambit has been included on the list and seventh time since 2009.
Since Ambit first claimed a position in the Top 100 Places to Work, the company has become the largest direct seller of energy in the world in part because of its continued focus on employees. Recently, Ambit has increased training and career opportunities, while revamping and expanding the company’s West End headquarters and Plano Support Center.
“It is an honor to once again be recognized among the Top 100 Places to Work in a city with so many world-class businesses,” said Jere Thompson, Jr., Co-founder and CEO for Ambit Energy. “We believe in fostering a strong corporate culture at Ambit, and this honor is a testament to our team members who are passionate about fulfilling Ambit’s mission of being the finest and most-respected retail energy provider.”
Founded in 2006 by Thompson and Chris Chambless, Ambit provides electricity and natural gas services in deregulated markets in 16 states, Washington D.C., Japan and Canada. The company serves more than 1.3 million customers and recorded $1.37 billion of revenue in 2016.
Ambit Energy was chosen as a Top Place to Work based on an independently conducted anonymous survey of its employees by Workplace Dynamics, The Dallas Morning News’ research partner.
