How to Build Your Business in a New Ambit Market | Ambit Energy

Finding Success in New Ambit Energy Markets

Ambit is all about opportunity—and nothing’s more exciting than the thought of a new, untapped market full of potential Customers and Consultants just waiting for you to share the Ambit Story. At the same time, the prospect of going into strange and unfamiliar territory can be a little intimidating. Here are a few tips that can help you turn new challenges into outstanding successes.

It’s Who You Know

You may not live in a new market area, but you probably know somebody who does. Whether it’s across the state or on the other side of the country, reach out to your contacts in the region—family members, old school friends, and former business associates. Ask people you know if they can think of anyone you should reach out to. And once you get those first leads, follow up to get additional referrals.

Take a Trip

If you have friends or relatives who live in a new market, see if they can host you for a few days. This is a great way to see what the competition is like, meet new people, find locations for future Business Presentations and more.

Socialize on Social Media

Use social media sites to join local networking groups and meet new people. Refer potential Consultants and Customers to resources like Ambit’s Facebook page, The Spark and Take advantage of the many videos available on YouTube. You’ll be amazed at how many powerful online and social media tools you have at your fingertips.

Know Your Market

Every Ambit market is different, with its own rules, regulations and products. What plays in Peoria may flop in Findlay. Familiarize yourself with the rate sheets and plans for the new market so you can clearly communicate Ambit’s advantages.

Talk the Talk

Even with all the powerful internet and social media tools at your disposal, always remember the importance of personal contact. Phone calls, a business presentation, a hand-written note—anything you can do to let potential Customers or Consultants know how important they are to you can be crucial.

Remember, many of Ambit’s most successful Consultants are active in multiple markets. A little planning and effort is the key to achieving success anywhere.
